Float Trips: Kennebec River Only

Our guided float trips provide a western style fishing experience on one of Maine's premier rivers. The Kennebec River is one of the state's most diverse and historic watersheds. Stretching over 170 miles from Moosehead Lake to the sea it contains a wide variety of fish and fishing situations.

Our full day float trips provide a minimum of 8 hours on the water, lunch, snacks and bottled water.

Full day trips can be broken up to take advantage of the morning and evening hatch cycles, or to give anglers a chance to rest. Arrangements can also be made to fish two different sections of river, giving anglers the opportunity to fish different water in the evening, or to target a different species. Please mention at the time of booking if you'd be interested in either of these options.

Our half day trips (morning or evening) provide a minimum of 4 hours on the water, snacks and bottled water.

Both full day and half day trips are limited to 2 people unless prior arrangements are made.

  Wading Trips

Wading trips are offered on many different sections of the Kennebec River, Dead River and Sandy River, as well as many of their smaller tributaries. We have access to several stretches of water through private, as well as public land. A public access trip is a great way for someone unfamiliar with the rivers to learn some great access points, as well as good fishing spots.

Due to the changing water levels on the Kennebec and Dead Rivers, these trips can be change without notice, but there's always fishable waters.

Full day wade trips include 8 hours minimum on the water, transportation, lunch, snacks, and bottled water.

Half day trips include 4 hours on the water, transportation, snacks and bottled water.

Pond Trips: 2 People Max Fishing

Maine is home to some of the most scenic stillwater ponds in the Northeast. Many of these ponds are the final refuge for wild Brook Trout in North America. Kennebec Drifters has canoes on several ponds both small and large. Many other ponds, more remote in nature are a great day hike to fish with float tubes. Overnights can be arranged and are recommended in order to experience the tranquility of dawn on a glass smooth pond.

Full day trips must, by necessity, start very early and include 8 hours on the water, transportation, lunch, snacks, and water.

Mid-afternoon breaks are encouraged as feeding slows drastically on many of these ponds when the sun is high.

  Extended Trips

Kennebec Drifters also provides extended camping and canoe trips into Maine's remote interior. Eventually, we hope to provide extended trips to the Allagash Wilderness Waterways, some of the most remote areas in the state.

Kennebec Drifters offers camping trips for any ability level, from simple trips into organized campgrounds, to longer hike-in destinations. Meals, transportation and some equipment provided. Call for detailed options, equipment lists, and prices.
